About Me

I originally trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham where I completed a Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and became a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).  www.psychotherapy.org.uk

I subsequently studied a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy at the University of Birmingham and became accredited by the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). www.babcp.com

During the last 15 years most of my work has been within the NHS and I have treated over 2,500 patients with common mental health problems.

I am committed to continuous personal development and have also trained in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and to Advanced level in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR). CFT is a psychotherapeutic approach that integrates elements of CBT and is particularly helpful for individuals who suffer from shame, guilt and self-criticism. EMDR is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.

I have completed various supervision trainings and offer both CBT specific and generic supervision. I also maintain membership of the UKCP via the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College.

I am listed on Find a Therapy's website which has verified my training, membership of professional organisations and professional indemnity insurance.
